Weekly Golf Report - 9/8/26
It was a big week at Chateau Bauerle with Kevin returning to the A grade ranks with a win and Jenni the ladies’ event winner for the second Saturday in a row.
KB’s round of 36 points got him across the line by one shot from the August Medalist in Lawrie Casey whose recent good form continued as he took out the A grade runner’s up trophy with 35 points.
Jenni posted the day’s best round of 37 points as she strolled to a five-shot win over runner up Lynne Canavan who had a round of 32 points.
In B grade Bud Thorsen made a welcome return to form with 35 points finishing one shot clear of Frank Broucek who collected the runner’s up trophy with 34 points.
Ball comp winners on the day were Gary Cleary with 34 points, Albert Adams (34), Peter Blackmore (33), Colin Rangitonga (33) and Rod Breen (32).
Gary Cleary won the A grade Nearest the Pin trophy on the 3rd after claiming the same trophy on Tuesday, taking home a dozen jackpot balls on both occasions.
Other NTP winners on Saturday were Laurie Radley (B grade 3rd) and Rich River’s Brendan Lewis who won the A grade NTP ball on the 12th before taking home the First Tea Voucher on the 15th a short time later.
Alan Hausler and Glenn Laity won best second shot ball on the 9th and 13th respectively.
On Tuesday Pooch McHale was the A grade winner with 35 points from Mick Coyne who won the runner’s up trophy with 32 points in a countback from Peter Mangan.
Geoff Strachan won a count back from John Burrows with 31 points as they finished one-two in B grade.
Balls went to Peter Mangan with his 32 points, Gary Cleary (31), Graeme Harrison (31) and Frank Broucek (31).
Apart from Gary Cleary on the 3rd, other NTP winners were Frank Broucek (B grade 3rd) and Brenton Sheppard (First Tea voucher 15th) while Frank Broucek (9th) and Daryl Harrison (13th) won second shot balls.
Just an early heads up for the Cooper-Buckell 4BBB on 29 August. There are always plenty of good trophies on offer for this event so be sure to find yourself a good partner.

Ladies Golf Report:
Thank you to Judy Sutton who kindly sponsored the stroke round played by the ladies at Valley View last Wednesday in conjunction with the August Monthly Medal.
Jenni Bauerle came out strong and was the winner of A Grade with her score 93-18-75, finishing one better than runner up Tracey Wade 95-19-76. Jenni had the best scratch score in A Grade, and Tracey was nearest the pin on the 15th.
In B Grade, Julie Neale 108-28-80 was the winner, and Marg Smerdon 116-34-82 runner up. Julie had the best scratch score in B Grade, and Marg was nearest the pin on the 15th.
Tracey Wade claimed the honors for being nearest the pin on the 3rd and was awarded the Firstea voucher. Despite having some extra on this same hole, Tracey also had the least putts on the day with 25 putts.
Jenni Buerle had the best nett score 75 and was the winner of the August Monthly Medal.
On Friday 21st August Valley View will host Ladies Jewellery Day – a 4BBB Stroke event proudly sponsored by Kyabram Showcase Jewellers. This promises to be a fun day, and includes a luncheon.
