Weekly Golf Report 30/11/25
Brett Radley continued his recent excellent form with the 2025 club champion partnering with Dad Laurie to take out Saturday’s Multiple Stableford event with the excellent score of 75 points.
Their form from the tee on the Par three holes would have contributed heavily to their success with Brett taking out the A grade nearest the pin trophies on both the 3rd and 12th holes while Laurie picked up the B Grade NTP on the 12th. For good measure Brett also took home the ball for nearest second shot on the par 4 13th hole.
Modern Day Dynamic Duo of Lawrie Casey and Peter Blackmore finished with 73 points to take out the runner’s up trophy.
Helen Emery and Sharon Harrison won the ladies’ event with 66 points, three shots clear of runner’s up Merryn Anderson and Judy Greer who combined for a score of 63 points.
Winning combinations in the ball comp were Paul Dickens and Peter Shermann with 70 points, Rob Geisler and Tony Geisler (61), Graeme Harrison & Penguin Nelson (60), John Burrows and David Collins (59) and Tracey Wade and Jan McHale (59).
Julie Neale won the ball for the closest second shot on the ninth while the voucher on the 15th was won by Tracey Wade.
Next Saturday’s event is the December Monthly Medal (Stroke) and is the first Saturday with two designated assembly times of 8am and 1130am.
Last Tuesday’s round saw Gordon Mackay take out A grade with 38 from Paul Kuiper with 35 points.
Frank Broucek, visiting from Bowen Qld was the runaway winner in B grade with the exceptionally good score of 46 points while John Burrows finished as the runner up, a distant 11 shots behind, with 35 points.
Bud Thorsen (34 points), Peter Blackmore (33) and Paul Pappin (33) were ball comp winners while the only two NTP trophies claimed went the way of Gordon Mackay (A grade 3rd) and Stuart Newton (15th).
Second shot ball winners were Parkland’s Kayne Crompton (9th) and Stephen Piggot (13th).
Scoop
Ladies Golf Report: It was President’s Day at Valley View on Wednesday. Unfortunately, ferocious winds and rain cut short the Stableford round when conditions became dangerous after 5 holes of play.
Not to be denied, players enjoyed a different way of allocating the day’s trophies based on the average of their last three games, and a draw for partners.
Judy Greer was thanked for her Presidency over the last three years and Wendy Cox was welcomed as our new president. Helen Emery and Von Morris continue in their roles as Captain and Secretary.
Our Pennant team excelled at Cobram Barooga last week winning 41/2 to 1/2 over the Cobram Barroga 1 team. As Cobram Barooga 2 had a 3/2 win over Shepparton, the Valley View/ Mooroopna team moved to the top of the ladder to meet second placed Cobram Barooga 2 in the final at Hill Top.
