Weekly Golf Report 29.6.25
SATURDAY The mystery 4 Ball component of Saturday’s Stableford event added a spark of interest to the day with our golfers having no idea who their 4 ball partners were until presentations.
Miles Gould in his first round for some weeks took out A grade with 37 points from Steve Browne with 35 and also found himself at the top of the 4 Ball leaderboard with John Burrow’s whose round of 30 points gave them a combined total of 67 points.
John Neale (33 points) and Corey Browne (32) finished as the 4 Ball runner’s up with a combined score of 65 points.
Paul Pappin was the day’s B grade winner posting a score of 35 points and getting the better of the consistent Tony Williams in a count back.
Jenni Bauerle was the ladies’ individual winner with 32 points from runner up Von Morris and Judy Greer (both with 31 points).
Judy and Von both featured in a countback for the mystery 4 Ball event, Judy combining with Julie Neale (28 points) as they won a countback from Von and Helen Armstrong (28 points) with combined totals of 59 points.
Back to the individual results and ball comp winners were Glen Laity with 33 points, John Neale (33), David Collins (32), Corey Browne (32), Pooch McHale (31), Robin Quinn (31) and Geoff Strachan (63).
Nearest the Pin winners on the day were Miles Gould and Robin Quinn (A grade 3rd and 12th respectively), Paul Pappin (B grade 3rd) and Brendan Cornwall who picked up the voucher on the 15th.
TUESDAY: The prospect of rain kept our golfers away in droves on Tuesday and as a result there were only enough numbers for one grade, the first time this has occurred in quite a while.
Daryl Harrison put together the best score of the day with 35 points, not bad off a handicap of seven in the prevailing conditions, and Paul Kuiper took out the countback for runner up from Kevin Bauerle with 33 points.
KB picked up a ball for his troubles as did Kevin Humbert with 31 points.
Nearest the Pin winners were Kev Humbert on the 12th and Jeff “Cobber” Carnie on the 15th while David Collins provided the highlight day with a near ace on the 3rd as he picked up a dozen jackpot balls before tapping in his putt of less than six inches for birdie.
This Saturday’s event is the July Monthly Medal round.
