Weekly Golf Report -20/6/2026

Saturday’s Stableford event was dominated by Parkland’s Nathan Richards with the three-handicapper taking out A grade with an excellent round of 37 points.

It was a popular win as he finished two shots of our June Medalist in Steve Usher. The Modest Onefinishing his round with 35 points and the A grade runner’s up trophy

Nathan also won the A grade Nearest the Pin ball on the par three 3rd and the nearest second shot on the 13th and should have added the First Tea voucher on the 15th to his collection but failed to register his shot on the NTP card thinking it was a ladies’ NTP hole. Alas the voucher was gratefully accepted by Steve Usher.

Frank Broucek cruised to victory in B Grade with 36 points, four shots clear of Alan Curnow and Colin Rangitonga. Alan got the better of the countback with his 32 points, a score which would have been a lot better but for a particularly frosty relationship with his putter late in the round.

In a keenly contested race, Von Morris emerged as the ladies’ winner with 34 points from Sharon Harrison with 33 points and Judy Greer who picked up a ball in the ball comp with 32 points.

Lawrie Casey (34 points), Dylan Gallivan (33), Gordon Mackay (33), Kevin Bauerle (32) and Graeme Harrison (32) also picked up balls in the ball comp.

Steve Usher and Alan Curnow won the NTP balls on the 12th while Sean McDonell picked up the nearest second shot ball on the ninth.

The best round on Tuesday came from Rod Breen who took out A grade with 35 points by two shots from Pooch McHale with 33.

Peter Lyon scored a narrow one shot win in B grade with 33 points from Gary Jurey and Bud Thorsen each with 32 points with the countback going Gary’s way.

In a very even field, ball comp winners were Gordon Mackay, Kevin Bauerle, Mick Gallivan, Daryl Harrison and Bud Thorsen all with 32 points.

Shane Bywaters won the A grade NTP ball on the 3rdwith all other NTP trophies staying with the club.
