Weekly Golf Report 14/6/26
Saturday’s Stableford event produced a wide range of scores from 40 points at the top of the mountain all the way down to 20 points from the men’s NAGA.
The best score of the day came from B grade winner Alan Hausler who posted the 40 point score as he cruised to a five-shot win with Lindsay Tatterson taking out the runner’s up trophy with 35 points.
In A grade reigning club champion Brett Radley produced another almost flawless round notching 38 points while playing off a handicap of five.
Like Haus he too finished well clear of the rest of the field with Lawrie Casey the runner up with 34 points.
Things were a lot closer in the ladies’ comp with Lynne Canavan putting together a round of 35 points which was good enough for a one shot win over runner up Jenni Bauerle who (for the mathematically challenged) had 34 points.
Ball comp winners were Alan Curnow with 34 points, Kevin Bauerle (33), Bill Fry (33) and John Canavan (31).
After last week it was good to see our golfers finding the target on more of the par 3 holes with Nearest the Pin trophies going to Peter Blackmore (A grade 3rd), John Canavan (B grade 3rd), Lynne Canavan (3rd) and Lawrie Casey (A grade 12th). Alan Curnow won the First Tea voucher on the 15th with a shot to within a couple of metres of the pin and though he missed his birdie putt he tidied up for a comfortable par.
Lawrie Radley (9th) and Mick Gallivan (13th) took home the best second shot balls.
Earlier in the week Shane Bywaters won the A grade event on Tuesday with 35 points from Peter Mangan with 34 points.
There was a three-way countback in B grade with Geoff Strachan the winner with 32 points from Frank Broucek while Paul Pappin had to settle for a ball in the ball comp.
Other ball comp winners were Pooch McHale with 33 points, Peter Blackmore (32), Laurie Radley (32), Miles Gould (30) and Kevin Humbert (30).
Shane Bywaters (A grade 3rd) and Paul Pappin (B grade 3rd) were the only NTP trophy winners while second shot ball inners were Paul Pappin (3rd) and Mick McAuliffe (12th).
Winners on the King’s Birthday Monday were Peter Mangan with 35 points from Dylan Gallivan with 34 points and Von Morris with 37 points from Wendy Cox with 31 points in a countback from Tracey Wade.

Ladies Wednesday Golf:
Wednesday’s women’s Stroke and putting competition for the Monthly Medal was generously sponsored by Kyabram Bakery.
On a day when only two players finished with a Nett score in the 70’s, Leanne Busch was the standout player. With a score of 19-91-72, she was the A Grade winner in both net and scratch and the winner of the Monthly Medal. To top off her great day, her shot on the 15th finished centimetres from the hole to win the nearest the pin and make an easy birdie.
Wendy Cox was runner up with 21-102-81.
B Grade winner was Judy Greer, 27-102–75, whose score won her both the Nett and scratch. Helen Armstrong was runner up with 25-109-84 and she also won nearest the pin on the 15th.
Von Morris won the Firstea voucher on the 3rd and had the least putts with 26.
