Weekly Golf Report 14/9/25
There was a mixed bag of scores from Saturday’s Par event with the best results coming from our B grade field.
Peter Sherman put together the day’s best score of +4 and won B grade by one shot from John Burrows with +3.
Kerry Kreeck finished two shots further back with the only other positive score of the day (+1).
In A grade Glen Laity outpointed Gordon Mackay in a countback after both posted scores of -1 from handicaps of 13.
Helen Emery, Jan McHale and Wendy Cox all posted even with the card scores in the ladies’ comp resulting in a three- way countback which saw Helen emerge as the winner and Jan the runner up.
Ball winners on the day were the previously mentioned Kerry Kreeck and Wendy Cox along with Brendan Cornwall (even), Gavon Armstrong (-1) and Peter Blackmore (-1).
On a lean day on the par three holes B grade’s Paul Pappin and Jan McHale won Nearest the Pin balls on the 3rd while David Collins picked up the voucher on the 15th on his way to a lengthy two putt par.
On Tuesday Mick Coyne blew the A grade field away with an excellent score of 39 points from a handicap of 11.
That left Gordon Mackay and Graeme Harrison, some five shots back with scores of 34 points, to fight it out in a countback for runner up with Gordon finishing with the runner’s up trophy.
Brenton Sheppard won B grade with 36 points from Alan Hausler with 35 points while balls in the ball comp went to Graeme Harrison, Daryl Harrison (33 points), David Collins (33), Peter Blackmore (33) and Robert Geisler (33).
In a dominant display Mick Coyne also picked up the A grade Nearest the Pin on the 3rd and the nearest second shot on the ninth.
Mick Gallivan (A grade) and Stuart Newton (B grade) picked up the NTP balls on the 12th and the voucher on the 15th was won by Peter Blackmore.
