Weekly Golf Report - 12/7/26
The July Monthly Medal, postponed a week following last week’s course closure, was duly contested at the weekend on a course in very good condition.
Unfortunately, only one player could make the most of those conditions with his score standing out on the Jack Bond leaderboard like a beacon while the rest of the field produced an array of cricket like scores.
That player was Dylan Gallivan who took home the July Medal in a canter with an excellent round of 75-6-69.
Dylan’s round featured four birdies, two of which came on the par 3 3rd and 12th holes after excellent tee shots that won him the A grade Nearest the Pin balls on those holes.
He was in such good form that he was one under the card with a handful of holes to play only to drop four shots in his last five holes.
Never the less he finished six shots clear of his nearest challenger in A grade runner up Kyle Kidd who posted a rounded of 89-14-75.
Dylan’s 75 off the stick was also the best gross score on the day.
Daryl Harrison (Nett 76), Wil Harrison (76) and David Collins (77) had the next best scores on their cards and made up the ball comp winners on the day.
In B grade Colin Rangitona scored a two-shot win with a round of 100-22-78 from Craig Larcombe who had a round of 104-24-80 and won the runner’s up trophy in a countback from Paul Kuiper and Paul Pappin. Kuiper’s gross score of 97 won him the B grade best gross score ball.
Helen Armstrong won the ladies’ comp with 106-25-81 from Helen Emery with 101-19-82.
Helen Emery won the best gross score ball.
Other winners on the day were Ian Brown who won the B grade NTP balls on the 3rd and 12th, Mick Coyne (First Tea voucher on 15th), Marie Watt (second shot 9th) and Glenn Laity (second shot 13th).
On Tuesday Parkland’s Jackson Barnett took out A grade with 36 points from Graeme Harrison with 35 points.
Paul Pappin was the B grade winner with 33 points from Colin Rangitonga with 32 points.
Matt Jean (34 points), Gordon Mackay (33), Kevin Humbert (32) and Nathan Richards (31) took home balls from the ball comp.
Tim Richards won the A grade NTP ball on the 3rd, Paul Pappin (second shot on 9th) and Jackson Barnett added best second shot ball on the 13th to his winner’s trophy.
A 5-0 against Mooroopna at Kialla on Sunday was not enough to get our Pennant team into next week’s final.
This week’s results were:
Laurie Radley 8&6 win
Mick Gallivan 2&1 win
Mick Pell 5&4 win
Miles Gould 2&1 win
Brett Radley 4&3 win
Those five players played in all three preliminary matches and we thank them for making themselves available to represent the club.

Ladies Wednesday Golf:
It was Monthly Medal, Stroke and Putting round for Valley View women last Wednesday. We thank our sponsors, Ian Collie Pharmacy for their continued support. Donations for Breast Cancer Research were also collected on the day.
A Grade results were dominated by sisters Leanne Busch and Jenni Bauerle. Remarkably, they finished with the same score, 95-18-77. Leanne was the winner of the count back meaning she claimed the win and the best Scratch. Jenni had to be satisfied with runner up position, but she also won nearest the pin.
B Grade scores suggest it was a tough day on the course. Helen Armstrong was the winner with 110-25-85 by one shot from Judy Greer 113-27-86. Helen was nearest the pin and had the best Scratch score.
Tracey Wade had the least putts with 23.
Leanne Busch was the winner of the Monthly Medal on a count back from Jenni Bauerle.
