Weekly Golf Report - 5/4/26

The Radley name has been a dominant force in recent months with Brett dominating the Club Championships and Summer Cup and on Saturday Laurie made his mark taking out his first Valley View Monthly Medal in imposing style posting a round of 86-21-65 as he cruised to his medal win with a comfortable five shot buffer.

For good measure, Brett was his nearest challenger for the medal taking out A grade with 75-5-70 by one shot from March Medalist, Gary Cleary who finished his round with 80-9-71 and I forsee some interesting duels ahead for these two gents in the near future.

Laurie’s round of 86 off the stick was the best gross score in B grade and Brett’s 70 was the best gross score overall.

Sean McDonell was the B grade runner up finishing eight shots behind Laurie with a solid round of 91-18-73.

Wanda Hacon was the ladies’ winner with 98-25-73 from Von Morris with 98-22-76. Tracey Wade took out the best gross score ball with 95 off the stick.

Ball comp winners were Kyle Kydd with Nett 74, Parkland’s Jackson Barnett (74), Nigel Dow (74), Geoff Squires (75), Stuart Newton (76), Mick Gallivan (76) and Alan Curnow (76).

Nearest the Pin winners were Glenn Laity (A Grade 3rd), our Monthly Medalist (B grade 3rd), Gary Clearly (A grade 12th), Sean McDonell (B grade 12th) and Pooch McHale (First Tea voucher 15th).

Gill Thorsen (9th) and Wil Harrison (13th) took out the nearest second shot balls.

Visitor’s dominated Tuesday’s A grade event with Bill Fry the winner with 37 points from Brendan IQ Ryan with 35.

Paul Pappin won B grade with 36 points by one shot from John Neale with 35 points.

Ball comp winners were Alan Hausler with 34 points, Mick Pell (33), Peter Blackmore (33), Paul Kuiper (33) and Frank Broucek (33).

Mick McAuliffe (A grade 3rd), Daryl Harrison and Paul Pappin (12th) and Graeme Harrison (First Tea Voucher 15th) were the NTP trophy winners.

A reminder about our Annual Tournament on this Friday. The format is a 4BBB Stableford for both men and ladies with assembly at 1130am for a midday hit off.

Ladies Wednesday Golf:

Last Wednesday’s golf was Stroke and putting and Monthly Medal day supported by the generous sponsorship of Workwear Connect.

In A Grade Leanne Busch 91-19-72 was a two shot winner from runner up, Tracey Wade, 90-16-74 who won the scratch with her 90 off the stick.

In B Grade, Margaret Smerdon, 106-34-72 was the winner from new member Marilyn Morrell who finished with 76 Nett. Helen Armstrong won the Scratch with 105 off the stick.

Nearest the pins on the 15th were won by Von Morris and Helen Armstrong. Jenni Bauerle again won the Firstea voucher on the 3rd.

Wendy Cox won the putting competition on a count back from Leanne Busch when both finished with 28 putts.
