Mens & Ladies Weekly Golf Report 10/8/25
Another perfect day brought out a good field for Saturday’s Stableford event but our golfers remain in a winter hibernation – at least scoring wise.
Two men did warm to the task though with Steve Browne, playing off a handicap of 13, taking out A grade with 39 points finishing two shots ahead of the scramble king and runner up Kevin Bauerle (handicap 16) who finished with a score of 37 points.
From there though the scoring was again lukewarm at best with the interest in the B grade and ladies’ events coming via countbacks to separate the winners and runners up.
In B grade Peter Sherman emerged from the countback as the winner nudging out Paul Dickens with 34 points while Jan McHale got the better of Jenni Bauerle in the ladies’ countback with 32 points.
The ball comp featured Mick Gallivan with 35 points, Mick Coyne, Nigel Dow, Wil Harrison (all with 33 points), Alan Hausler and Jake Gascoyne (32 points each).
Jake Gascoyne (3rd) and Wil Harrison (12th) won the A grade Nearest the Pin balls, Alan Hausler (3rd) and Des Partington (12th) the B grade NTP’s while Jenni Bauerle (3rd) and Tracey Wade (12th) took out the ladies’ NTPs.
Surprisingly the voucher on the 15th stayed with the club with none of the field finding that green from the tee.
On Tuesday Ron Dixon put together the best score of the day of 35 points giving him a three-shot win in B grade.
Daryl Harrison took out A grade with 33 points in a countback from Kevin Humbert while Peter Sherman warmed up for Saturday by taking out the B grade runner’s up trophy with 32 points.
Tom Scurrah (B grade 3rd) and Stuart Nolan (15th) were the only success stories on the par three holes and balls went to Pooch McHale with 32 points, Geoff Strachan (31), Gavon Armstrong (30), Kevin Bauerle (30) and Laurie Radley (30).

Ladies Wednesday Golf Report
Helen Emery is our August Monthly Medal winner after a nice 93-18-75 result last Wednesday. She also had the best scratch result overall. Tracey Wade was the A Grade Runner up with 98-18-80.
In B Grade, Sharon Harrison claimed victory with 105-27-78 ahead of Judy Sutton's 122-42-80. Not surprisingly, Sharon's scratch score was the best for that grade. Bev Lyon joined Helen Armstrong as Nearest the Pin winner with a similarly off the green tee shot on the 15th.
With a total of just 28 putts, Marlene Topp took home the last prize of the day. Many thanks to Ian Collie Pharmacy who were our very generous sponsor on the day.
