Ladies Presentation Day - 22/10/2025

It was Presentation Day at Valley View last Wednesday. Normally, this would involve a Stroke round in the morning followed by lunch and Yearly presentations, however the forecast of rain and strong winds, led to the wise decision to proceed with our celebrations without the round of golf.

We welcomed our sponsor for our Club Championships, Michael Watt from M&S Accounting who made the presentations to A Grade Champion, Tracey Wade and runner up Marilyn West, B Grade Champion, Helen Armstrong and in a special moment the C Grade Champion, his mother, Marie Watt and runner up Judy Sutton. B Grade runner up Wanda Hacon was unable to attend.

Winners at Club level of State competitions included: Janice Johnstone, The Silver Spoon; Liz Haw and Wanda Hacon, The Royal Women’s Hospital 4Ball and Helen Emery and Tracey Wade, The Doris Chambers Foursomes.

Other winners of club competitions included: The Olympic, Marlene Topp; Most Birdies, Janice Johnstone; most Gobblers, Helen Armstrong; Most Pars for handicaps over 30, Judy Sutton; Least putts average, Jenni Bauerle and Tracey Wade; The Eclectic, A Grade, Von Morris and Janice Johnstone and B Grade, Wendy Cox.

Finally, the Yearly Medal - Golfer of the Year, generously sponsored by Kyabram’s Jeweller was won by a surprised Helen Armstrong. This award is based on the average of a players best 10 rounds during the winter golf season. Clearly, Helen had forgotten those excellent 10 rounds.

In Pennant, the Valley View/ Mooroopna combination had an excellent win over Numurkah, 3 1/2 to 1 1/2 in round two.

On Friday, Valley View will welcome golfers from across the region to our Lally Gold Watch day.
