Ladies Golf Report 24/5/26

Valley View’s Champions: Judy Greer (B Grade) Tracey Wade (Club Champion) Gill Thorsen (C Grade)

Valley View’s Champions and runners up. Bev Lyon and Judy Greer, Tracey Wade and Leanne Busch and Gill Thorsen and Margaret Smerdon. 

Congratulations to Tracey Wade who is the Valley View Women’s Champion for the third consecutive year.

In a very close competition, Tracey, 286, finished one shot clear of Leanne Busch who was runner up and Helen Emery. The B Grade Champion is Judy Greer, 311, with Bev Lyon runner up on 316. Gill Thorsen, 326, is the C Grade Champion and Margaret Smerdon is runner up.

Wendy Cox won the handicap competition with the best Nett score, 239, over the three rounds. Special thanks to M&S Accounting for their continued sponsorship of our Championships.

In Wednesday’s daily competition which was generously sponsored by Terry White Chemmart, Wendy Cox, 95-22-73, had a day out to win the A Grade Nett and Gross competitions and also the nearest the pin on the 15th. Marilyn West, 99-23-76, was runner up.

Results in B Grade followed a similar pattern. Judy Greer, 102-28-74 won both the Nett and Gross competitions and was nearest the pin on the 15th. Gill Thorsen, 109-30-79, was runner up.

Von Morris won the Firstea voucher on the third.

Valley View’s Division Two Pennant team remain undefeated and sit on top of the ladder with one round to go. On Monday 18th May, Valley View defeated Cobram Barooga 3 1/2 to 1 1/2. Von Morris halved her match and Helen Armstrong 2 up, Wendy Cox 3/2 and Jenni Bauerle 1 up were winners on the day.
